There is no one way to describe a typical 'client'. People who choose counselling are people of all ages, from all different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and they bring with them all kinds of different issues.

They may be going through a difficult time at work or in their relationships or they may be struggling with illness and bereavement.

Sometimes there may not even be an apparent ‘reason’, just a sense of feeling low or depressed without being able to say why.

Those who choose counselling have one thing in common, though. The realization that they need some support and that seeing a counsellor could be a big step in the right direction.

Seeing a counsellor could help you untangle some of the difficult thoughts and feelings you may be experiencing and give you the boost needed to take charge of your own life and recognize you own needs and longings.
